We practice authentic, traditional yoga: our classes include asanas (postures), self-enquiry meditation, pranayama (breathing exercises), yoga nidra and relaxation. We offer a range of regular yoga classes and meditation courses to suit all levels, from beginner to advanced. Speciality Yoga programs; philosophy, chakra workshops, vegetarian cooking are also regularly scheduled.

Our light-filled Newstead studio is a peaceful oasis in the heart of Brisbane, just moments away from James Street Markets, the Emporium and Gasworks. Join us for yoga and meditation in one of our practice halls, and stay for a  cup of tea in our tranquil garden or cosy sitting area.

THE PROMISE OF YOGA - Attainable through the Right Practice.

With the proper foundation, preparation and instruction we will achieve ‘freedom from limitations’ though Yoga. Most often our limitations are those we’ve imposed upon ourselves and haven’t understood how to release, proper yoga instruction gives us the way out. In time we become more gracious individuals and understand how important our life is to others, to ourselves and to nature. What we choose to do from then, is called living with purpose.

Remarkable peace gathering at the United Nations in Vienna

VIENNA, 2 October 2015 – While world leaders are proclaiming an historical post-2015 Agenda with partnership engagements for the Sustainable Development Goals at the United Nations in New York, more than 200 delegates and representatives, from NGOs and academia around the world, have gathered in the United Nations in Vienna to commemorate the International Day of Non-Violence. The international conference titled, “Yoga – a Path to Non-Violence and World Peace” was organized by the Sri Swami Madhavananda World Peace Council (SSMWPC), an NGO in special consultative status with ECOSOC, on the initiative of its founder, Bharat Gaurav Vishwaguruji Maheshwarananda.
